SOul CAlypso can be loosely defined as a kind of calypso music with elements of soul, originally from Trinidad as a fusion of calyspo & Indian Rhythms. It often features improvised lyrics on topical or humourous subjects..

That pulsating music of carnival, jumping rhythmic beat of drums and bass over laid with stabbing horns and vocal. The sound of the Trinbago and Barbadian dance halls, Hot vibrations.

One of the earlier and most well know tracks is - Hot, Hot, Hot by Arrow - and the inspirational Kitchener with hits like Pan in A minor and the newer Symphony on the Street. As in keeping with the tradition of Caribbean carnival is where the songs of the period are defined for the coming year;
